What we strive for
To promote and implement the Kids to Kids method of peer-to-peer education through the arts locally, nationally and globally.
To tap all resources in the D.C. Metropolitan Area in order to establish ongoing collaborative efforts to expand and enhance the CARE for Kids mission.
To involve congressmen, ambassadors, community and school leaders in the process of a local, national and global outreach program to implement a project to help shape young lives through the visual and performing arts everywhere.
To bring young people and community members through the theater doors to see the ongoiong Kids to Kids performances, which illuminate important issues facing today’s youth.
To provide college scholarships to young people who participate in the program.
To illustrate that the program is within the audience’s reach, whether in the classroom, an after school program or another disciplinary facility, and that there is no group too small for the project.
The CARE for Kids Foundation has chosen to launch its initial program in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. We will transport children and youth from the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and Suburban Maryland to the first annual theatrical performance written and produced by local arts students who have met with alternative high school students to share experiences with substance abuse and other relevant issues. The concept will subsequently be implemented into schools and other facilities to provide a therapeutic means of promoting personal growth and resilience and defining healthy choices and solutions for life.
